Thanks for trying to help, I guess it’s something that is too advanced for me at this stage. I’ve tried but the result I get is an error:
Could not resolve to a component implementation.

Well… I’ll have to give it another shot once I get more familiar with flex

Tanja: You can find the source for the book at the link, but i think there is a later beta version now, check out http://www.rubenswieringa.com/blog/book-beta-bug-fixes-simple-demo.
You need to download the source and compile it using Flex, i used the trial version from Adobe page to compile it, the code is fairly straightforward and well commented.

Hi, I’d like to use the flip book for an example but I don’t know how to get it up and running. Is there a class library or something that I need to download? can’t find it on the website that you linked.

The source for my book is Ruben Swieringa’s code so you will have to go to his site to get the source.
